In 2019, the apex court of India gave a verdict in favor of the Hindu community. The Hindu community was permitted the construction of Ayodhya Ram Mandir, and the government was ordered to provide the Muslim community with a piece of land elsewhere in the city for constructing a mosque.
The inauguration ceremony of Ram Mandir was held on January 22, but despite the verdict on the same day, the construction of the mosque hasn’t even started yet. Zufar Ahmad Faruqi, who is the president of the IICF, revealed that they are facing difficulties raising funds.
Those involved in the mosque’s construction stated that the need to redraw the plan to include more conventional features like minarets contributed to the project’s delay. In the facility, a 500-bed hospital has also been planned.
