As per the decision of HRD minister Prakash Javedkar, NEET entrance test was decided to be conducted by the authority of NTA from 2019 onwards. The entrance test was scheduled to be conducted twice in a year by online mode. However, now the decision facing certain issues and the decision still remains unclear.

As per the recent reports, the Ministry of Health is pointing out some major issues related to the new changes made in NEET 2019 by HRD. The health ministry also says that the decision was made without any official consultation with them. Regarding the issue, the health ministry has written a letter to the HRD ministry discussing the problem.
The health ministry has discussed major issues in the letter regarding the conduction of NEET by CBT mode. The ministry says that the conduction of NEET by online CBT mode will be a disadvantage for the poor students living in the rural areas of the country. It will be unfair for the economically backward families located in the rural parts where the facility cannot be provided.
Moreover, health ministry also discusses the two times conduction issue of the entrance test. According to the HRD ministry, the NEET was decided to be conducted in February and March 2019. But the health ministry claims that this will put an extra pressure on the students who are preparing for their Class 12th board exams.

Due to these problems, the conduction of the entrance test by offline mode is being discussed by the HRD ministry. It is expected that the entrance test will be conducted by the authority of CBSE only with pen and paper mode only.
Considering the problems pointed out by the health ministry, MHRD organized a meeting to discuss the issue. However, the decision regarding the entrance exam is still undecided and MHRD may take the decision likely till the next week.
