The syllabus of MBBS has been revised by the authority of MCI for the session 2019 onwards. The MBBS syllabus is revised almost after twenty years and will be published on the website soon by the authority. The new revised syllabus will provide medical undergraduate students with clinical experience from the first year of the programs.
According to the reports, the previous prescribed syllabus was not insufficient enough in training the MBBS students for their specialization. Now the focus is on the skill development of the medical students. The revision in the syllabus will include two months foundation course for the medical students.
The medical scholars will now be provided dedicated training with respect to the national health care structure, professional development, medico – legal matters and communication skills. With the passing eras, new- new diseases are being evolved. The syllabus will include the information and study of these new diseases and the topics not required in the general practice will be eliminated.

Earlier the clinical practical and skills were only provided to the students in their first year of the program. Now with the amendments in the syllabus, the students will learn the clinical skills from the first year of their program. Also they will be taught about the medicolegalcases which most of the doctors were earlier unaware.
The decision to renew the syllabus of MBBS program yet to be decided by the authority. As per the reports, the final meeting is yet to take place in New Delhi for the approval of new syllabus. However, the authority of MCI has already started training the teachers across the country to teach students from the revised syllabus.

The new approach of syllabus will bring about a strong hold on important topics to be studied by the MBBS students. The emphasis will be placed on teaching the students about the new topics related to the behaviorism sciences, gender sensitivity, mental stress, sex, etc. Also the control of various communicable and non- communicable diseases will be taught to the students.
